This installment of HFAM’s signature Healthcare Leadership Institute, is complete with highly respected state and national leaders speaking on emerging healthcare topics. HFAM’s Healthcare Leadership Institute is incredibly beneficial for all who have an interest in the future of healthcare.

  • In recent years, studies have shown that medical cannabis can have a positive impact on healthcare. Michael Bronfein, CEO of Curio Wellness, Maryland’s premier medical cannabis company, will discuss the benefits of medical cannabis and how healthcare organizations can use it for patient wellness during his keynote address.
  • With news of mass shootings sweeping the headlines, it’s important now more than ever to have a plan in place for your center. First Sergeant Jonathan Hill, who has 18 years of experience with the Maryland State Police, will break down procedures and preventative measures to best help you and your team during an emergency.
  • The opioid epidemic in America has impacted people from all walks of life. Both young and old have been affected by the potentially destructive powers of opiates. Yngvild Olsen, MD, the Medical Director at Institute for REACH Health Services, one of Maryland’s top organizations fighting addiction, speaks on the current crisis and how healthcare facilities can do their part in fighting against the rise in opioid abuse.
  • Workplaces are more diverse with employees and it can be tough to manage Boomers, Gen X and Millennials all under one roof. MaryBeth Hyland, an award-winning speaker and workshop facilitator, will speak on “narrowing the generational divide” between employees in the workplace.
  • Social media and the news have the power to make or break an organization’s brand during times of crisis. Trif Alatzas, publisher of The Baltimore Sun Media Group, and David Nevins, the president of Nevins & Associates, one of Baltimore’s premier marketing and PR firms, will discuss reputation management during everyday media opportunities and dire times.
